SDTA Scholarship Nominees (Friday Only)

 

Congratulations on your nomination to participate in the 14th Annual SDTA Elspeth G. Strathern & JL McKenzie NA Highland Scholarship.

Scholarship Details

• Candidates must qualify from grade examinations taken between July 1st 2023 and June 30th 2024.

• All nominated candidates who wish to participate in the scholarship must register.

• A draw will take place to determine the order in which candidates will dance.

• Registration will close on July 31st, 2024.

• There are 3 sections to the Scholarship Event that will take place on Friday October 11, 2024, from approximately 9am - 5pm:

  • Tribute to JL McKenzie

  • Written Paper

  • Master Class​

• A detailed schedule will be released a few weeks prior to the event.

OPTIONAL: Solo Choreography Competition

• Solo choreography dance will be performed, with a maximum time limit of one minute and 30 seconds from the start of the music (not the start of the dance).

• Music must edited to the correct length and submitted via this form: https://forms.gle/7uDFJU16t4rt4s1e6 by August 31st 2024.

Conference Registration (Saturday & Sunday)

 

Join us for the 14th Annual SDTA NA Highland Conference in Toronto, Ontario.

Dancers, parents and teachers of all ages are welcome! All weekend passes include: lunch on Saturday, a banquet dinner on Saturday and brunch on Sunday. Registration will close on July 31, 2024.

Please note that you do not need to be affiliated with the SDTA in order to attend. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled weekend of dance!

For the conference weekend, all passes include lunch & banquet dinner on Saturday & brunch on Sunday.

 

Please see below for ticket descriptions:

Dancers

• Silver Medal Test &U/ Pre-Premier: This ticket grants access to the full weekend of classes designated for Silver medal test & under as well as pre-premier dancers. (Note, cannot attend professional classes).

• Gold Medal Test &O/ Premier: This ticket grants access to the full weekend of classes designated for Gold Medal Test & above/Premier dancers - including championship step & premiership step lectures. (Note, cannot attend professional classes).

Note: these are a guideline/suggestion, dancers may choose whichever category best suits them.

Professionals

• SDTA Professional: This ticket grants access to the full weekend of classes designated for dancers and professionals. This ticket is for SDTA professionals (current SDTA membership required). 

• Non-SDTA Professional: This ticket grants access to the full weekend of classes designated for dancers and professionals. This ticket is for non-SDTA professionals (BATD, UKA or equivalent).

Parents

• Parent/Guardian Pass: This ticket includes lunch & banquet dinner on Saturday & brunch on Sunday and access to 3 classes designated for parents during the conference.

• Parent Pass - Meals Only: This ticket includes lunch & banquet dinner on Saturday & brunch on Sunday only.
